Nemetschek opens Allplan to software and service companies in the construction sector

Munich, 18. October 2006 - Nemetschek sets new standards in research and development: within the framework of a new partner program, the software company is opening its Allplan CAD system to companies that provide applications for the design, construction and management of buildings. In this way, partners receive a development platform, which they can use to integrate specialist applications with the Allplan product suite or to combine Allplan functions with their own applications. They also benefit from close cooperation with sales and marketing.

With the Open Developer Network program, Nemetschek is expanding its range of specialist IT applications in the construction industry. Companies can integrate their software solution seamlessly with Allplan via an open interface. In this way, they accelerate the development process, receiving a scaleable CAD foundation for their specific software product. The additional package for Allplan 2006 is available as a Software Developer Kit and, in addition to comprehensive programming tools, it contains additional services ranging from technical advice to training and certification.

Many customers are already taking advantage of this offer: the Austrian company ESS EDV-Software-Service has used Allplan as the basis for its application for the integrated planning of heating, ventilation, sanitation, electrical installations and the energy pass. Other examples are a CAD system for the integrated planning of tram and rail systems from the Swiss company ICS, or applications for construction site safety from the Spanish software specialist UrbiCAD, both based on Allplan.

The partner program increases innovation
"In recent years, we have invested more in the development of interfaces, and therefore in our own innovation. The Open Developer Network is a firm component in our strategy for providing a comprehensive range of integrated solutions for the entire life cycle of a building", says Dr. Peter Mossack, member of the Managing Board responsible for Research and Development at Nemetschek AG.

Within the program, partners can choose between "corporate partner" status, "product partner" status or "OEM" (Original Equipment Manufacturer) status, depending on the level of cooperation. While corporate partners develop products for Allplan and sell them separately, product partners sell them in combination with Allplan. OEM partners create and deliver integrated stand-alone solutions based on an OEM version of Allplan. For the partners, this means greater flexibility with best-of-breed. They also gain access to a customer network containing over 170,000 architects, engineers, construction clients, authorities, construction companies or facility management companies, and they benefit from shared marketing initiatives.
