The aim of the online survey was to determine the planning and production methods used at the time of the survey and to identify current problems during construction projects.

In addition to planners and design specialists, executors and subcontractors in the construction industry were also specifically invited to participate in the study. In total, 378 people took part, two thirds of whom were planners such as architects, design specialists and general contractors. 60% of the planners came from smaller companies with a maximum of 10 employees.

The results of the study were published by Fraunhofer IAO (Institute for Labor Economics and Organization) in the BIM study for planners and executors.
