Important new features in ALLPLAN 2019-1
Since the release of ALLPLAN 2019-0, we have provided you with some hotfixes including various enhanced features throughout ALLPLAN.
The following section briefly presents some new features in ALLPLAN 2019-1. This is followed by the features that we have implemented since the ALLPLAN 2019-0-6/7 hotfixes. You can find details of earlier hotfixes in the release notes for ALLPLAN 2019-0 and later; see Overview of release notes.
By sending quality reports, giving feedback or posting on the forum, you - as a user of our programs - contribute considerably to the further development of ALLPLAN, making ALLPLAN even more practical and reliable. Thanks a lot!
New tool - “Download Reference Model from Bimplus”
You can use the new “Download Reference Model from Bimplus” tool to download model data from a Bimplus project completely or partially to ALLPLAN. You can use the data of the objects downloaded (geometry and attributes) as a reference for your own planning work in ALLPLAN. This helps you avoid collisions. All components downloaded are on the “BIMPL_REF” layer in ALLPLAN, which is frozen by default. Objects on this layer are excluded from the upload; only your specialist model will be uploaded.
Technical preview 2 for ALLPLAN Visual Scripting
ALLPLAN 2019-1 includes ALLPLAN Visual Scripting as a technical preview. ALLPLAN Visual Scripting is an application within ALLPLAN. With ALLPLAN Visual Scripting, you can not only generate many new parametric shapes and objects but also fully automate workflows. You do not need to know how to program if you want to work with ALLPLAN Visual Scripting. All you have to do is visually combine predefined code blocks, which are known as nodes. This results in a script. After running the script, ALLPLAN Visual Scripting calculates the algorithm and creates configurable and reusable objects in ALLPLAN or, depending on the script, runs the workflow defined.
The ALLPLAN 2019-1 Actionbar does not include ALLPLAN Visual Scripting. Open “Actionbar Configurator”, select the “More Tools” task area and the “ALLPLAN Visual Scripting” tool and drag this tool onto the Actionbar.
Technical preview for point clouds
ALLPLAN has entered into a partnership with the laser scanning specialist Scalypso to make the working method based on point clouds easily accessible to a wide range of users. In cooperation with Scalypso, a plug-in for ALLPLAN has been developed and is now available. Using the converter included in the plug-in, you can import scanned data in different formats. You can then transfer selected 3D points to an ALLPLAN project. For more intensive use, you - as an ALLPLAN user - can purchase an extended version tailored precisely to your needs. This version is available at a special price. For example, you can thus calculate horizontal sections automatically and derive precise floor plans or building models from these sections in no time at all.
Two attributes as sorting criteria in “Objects” palette
You can select any attribute as a second sorting criterion in the “Objects” palette. To do this, open custom sorting, right-click this line and select “Attribute 2” on the shortcut menu. Then, click the symbol of the second attribute and select the second attribute as usual. You can change how the objects are sorted by moving the categories.
New tools for importing drawing files and layouts
Using “Open on a project-specific basis: drawing files...” and “Open on a project-specific basis: layouts”, you can add drawing files and layouts from a project backup or other sources to the project. Right-click a structural node in the drawing file structure or layout structure and select “Import drawing files” or “Import layouts” on the shortcut menu. You can use these tools to open a project directly or a zipped project backup, select one or more drawing files or layouts and import the selected drawing files or layouts. When you open the shortcut menu of a single drawing file or layout, you can find the “Replace drawing file” or “Replace layout” tool.
New features for IFC export
This is important for exporting openings: BaseQuantities for areas and volumes of openings will be transferred as positive values, instead of negative values.
The “IFC Export, Import Settings” include the following new options:
- Combine smart opening symbols (IFC4 export only)
This option combines smart symbols in openings (for example, window, roller blind housing, window sill) for transfer. This option is selected by default. - Use maximum precision for polygonization
When you select this option, ALLPLAN uses maximum resolution to polygonize and transfer round objects or objects delimited by curves (for example, bridge models). The objects transferred are smoother, but the data volume is greater. - Number of decimal places (for “Transfer quantity data”)
Enter the number of decimal places for transferring BaseQuantities. When the unit is meters (default setting), you need at least three decimal places (0.365 m) to correctly transfer a wall thickness of 36.5 cm. - Suppress grouping (for “Split multilayer components”)
If you have chosen to split and transfer multilayer components as individual components, the program groups these components using the IfcElementAssembly component group. Select this new option if you do not want to group the components.
New tool for views and sections - “Remove/Add Axes”
You can use the new “Remove/Add Axes” tool to remove axes of the “Axis Grid” tool from a view or section or add axes of this tool to a view or section.
Enhanced features since the ALLPLAN 2019-0-6 and 2019-0-7 hotfixes
General
We edited and corrected various messages of Quality Reporter. As a result, ALLPLAN is now more stable and reliable.
ALLPLAN runs faster due to various means.
Setup
When auto-update fails, you get a link to the full installation package on ALLPLAN Connect. You can download Setup and install ALLPLAN.
The German layer definition file is included when you install ALLPLAN with a non-German license and the country package for Germany.
Backing up data
If the Windows username includes spaces, the Services application might have canceled the import of a data backup, displaying the following message: “ File Project1.dat.xml not found!” We solved this issue.
Basic features
Projects
When you create new projects, the program presents only suitable paths for saving these projects.
Drawing files and layouts
Drawing file selection is faster due to various enhancements.
You can open and switch empty drawing files more quickly even when the project includes many linked drawing files.
To enhance performance, we adjusted the processes of loading and saving linked drawing file data.
Ctrl+A selects all elements in a drawing file more quickly.
The “Open on a project-specific basis...” dialog box stays open when you select the Enter key to confirm processes such as assigning or copying drawing files.
You can copy drawing files that contain reinforcement and associative legends without problem in the building structure.
You can drag drawing files from the “Derived from building structure” area on the right side into the “Building structure” area on the left side. The program saves the changes in the building structure correctly.
The “Make layout current” tool is locked for current layouts. You can find this tool on the shortcut menu of a layout in the “Open on a project-specific basis: layouts” dialog box.
Layout editor
The “Modify Layout Window” tool opens more quickly.
When you save a custom NDW file that contains components and a view, this custom NDW file is still available even when you open and close layout editor.
User interface
Selection preview of elements with subordinate elements is faster.
Actionbar Configurator
The new “Download Reference Model from Bimplus” tool has an icon in the “Bimplus” task area of Actionbar Configurator.
Libraries
PythonParts
Various PythonParts are easier to program and use.
After you have placed some PythonParts as 3D models, you can delete components of these PythonParts by selecting the components and using the Del key without the program deleting the 3D object.
PythonParts support IFC 4.
Teamwork
Various enhancements stabilize and speed up the process of working together using Workgroup Manager, Workgroup online and ALLPLAN Share.
Workgroup Manager
When you use Workgroup Manager on several servers, you can move data between these servers without problem. The program does not delete the project folder from the first server until it has transferred all data.
Workgroup Online, ALLPLAN Share
The program collects all locking info when you open a project, making project work faster.
ALLPLAN Share
Various enhancements stabilize and speed up the process of working together using ALLPLAN Share.
Import
You can now use the “Scalypso” plug-in as a technical preview in ALLPLAN. The “Teamwork” task on the Actionbar already includes the “Import Point Clouds” and “Import Model” tools. So that you can use these tools, you must first run the Scalypso Setup, which you can find in the Services application: Go to “Service” - “Scalypso Plug-in”. You can use “Import Point Clouds” to import point clouds (created by 3D scanners) from Scalypso to ALLPLAN. You can use “Import Model” to transfer only the information you actually need: For example, an area that has thousands of points can be imported as an intelligent area.
Bimplus interface
The “Import bim+ Data” - “ Rooms” tool is no longer available. You can now use the “Download Reference Model from Bimplus” tool (“Teamwork” task - “Bimplus” task area) to import rooms from a Bimplus building model to ALLPLAN. When you are prompted to select the model, choose the “Room model” object class.
The “Import Attribute Values from Bimplus” tool presents and compares all attributes.
Bimplus imports attributes of component layers.
IFC interface
Note: BaseQuantities for areas and volumes of openings will be transferred as positive values, instead of negative values.
Text in the transfer log is more precise.
IFC export of 3D objects transfers BaseQuantities and SurfaceArea.
We enhanced the calculation of the bending pin diameter for exporting bar reinforcement.
We enhanced the export of baseboard created as finish specifications of rooms.
IFC export always enters an appropriate value for the “PredefinedType” variable.
We enhanced the way the program uses “IfcGeometricRepresentationContext” and “IfcGeometricRepresentationSubContext” for exporting objects whose appearance changes with the scale.
The program exports sliding shutters or folding shutters of opening elements to IFC when the “Explode door/window geometry” option is selected in the “IFC Export, Import Settings”.
We enhanced the IFC import of axis grids.
We enhanced the IFC import of finish specifications.
When importing IFC 4 data, the new interface correctly handles offset coordinates defined in the project.
When importing IFC 4 data, the new interface correctly handles the “IfcIShapeProfile“ and “IfcAsymmetricIShapeProfile” types of profile.
We enhanced the IFC 4 import of advanced BREPs (NURBS).
We enhanced the IFC 4 import of surfaces of revolution (IfcSurfaceOfRevolution, NURBS).
IFC 4 import can handle sweep solids or sweep surfaces of which the profile is defined as “IfcTrapeziumProfileDef”.
Design
Grid
To label the axes of axis grids, you can use fonts with long names too.
Architecture
Plane model
Architectural objects (for example, slab, column, wall) in drawing files that are not part of a plane model can be created so that their bottom levels take their heights from the upper default reference plane and their component heights are fixed.
Openings in (floor) slabs whose top levels are attached to a reference plane cut through the slab correctly.
Elements
A component that takes its height settings from a reference surface retains these height settings when you edit it by using the “Modify Attributes” tool.
Downstand beams with cross-sections from the “Nemetschek profile catalog” intersect walls correctly when you select “Exact penetration” for the “Intersection of downstand beam and wall” option in the “Options” - “Components and architecture” page - “Component profile” area.
Stair
Using the stair modeler, you can check the headroom clearance of a stair design. In addition, you can add a landing of any length, define the minimum tread run in the skewing region and the distance between the step numbering and the stair axis. For the undercut, you can place the pen, line and color on a separate layer.
Finish
The “Formwork - slabs (soffit).rdlc” report (“Trades” - “Concreting work” folder) analyzes slabs correctly, considering wall crowns and other objects even when there are no openings that extend as far as the bottom level of the wall.
Annotations
Quantity reports correctly analyze architectural objects you created based on your own attributes and element master, regardless of how you create these architectural objects.
The “Doors (for transfer of all attributes).rdlc”, “Doors (for complete transfer).rdlc” and “Doors (for brief transfer).rdlc” reports correctly export data to Excel and reimport data to ALLPLAN.
Modeling
You can use the “Stretch Entities” tool to edit 3D objects delimited by curves without problem.
Facility management
Allfa Sync
You can use the “Macro Item Mapping” tool in country-specific projects even when the “Limit use of smart symbols to office standard” option is not selected.
Views and sections
You can edit grids without problem in views and sections.
You can still edit all views and sections in a drawing file when you delete axes from a grid in a view or section.
The “Copy, Convert Elements Across Drawing Files” tool lists all reference drawing files when you apply this tool to elements in views and sections.
Gridlines you have deleted do not appear again when you copy the drawing file via ProjectPilot or the building structure to another project or another place in the building structure.
You cannot use the drag-and-drop feature to move reinforcement in views and sections from an open custom NDW file into the current drawing file. The program cancels this operation, displaying a message.
The current layer does not change when you select the “Create View” or “Create Section” tool by double-clicking an existing view or section with the right mouse button.
You can use the “Stretch Entities” tool to change the border of a section (created with the “Update automatically” option being selected).
All bars are visible in the model view, regardless of how you select the bars (using the “Objects” palette” or Ctrl+A).
You can use the “Copy” tool to copy sections without problem in a drawing file.
When you change the scale, the label of a partial schema adapts correctly even when you created the partial schema of a mark at a different scale and in a different section than the schema.
The program displays adjacent edges between different surface elements correctly in sections of foundations or stairs created with “Stair Modeler”.
The program calculates and displays sections of bar reinforcement more quickly in large projects.
When you assign a new clipping path to a section, the program correctly updates the section label created automatically even when you moved this label beforehand.
The way the section objects and view borders look is more consistent.
The layout displays a section with 3D objects and reinforcement correctly even when you created the section with the “Update automatically” option being selected.
When you place a drawing file in a layout and this drawing file includes views and sections of another drawing file that includes the model and axes or 3D gridlines, the program updates this drawing file correctly even when you change the axes or 3D gridlines in the original drawing file with the model.
When you use the “Remove/Add Axes” tool to add axes of an axis grid to a view or section, these axes are also visible within the border around the view or section.
Engineering
Bar reinforcement
Direct object modification of bar shapes is faster with handles in various places.
You can use direct object modification to change the bar diameter without problem.
You can edit the placing line of a copied placement without problem.
You can rearrange placements without problem.
You can use the “Reinforcement Tools” (“All-1” and “1-All”) to display invisible reinforcement without problem in a model view.
You can save and use a bar placement as a “dumb symbol (not snoop-enabled)” without problem.
You can reset a changed “Layer factor” in the “Place Bar Shape” tool.
When you use “Extrude Bars Along Path” to place a bar shape with several segments, the two-line label is still correct when you change the dimensions in a part of the placement using the “Stretch Entities” tool.
You can use “Place Bar Shape” - “Linear placement” to place reinforcing bar marks without problem in a section.
When you place new bars in views and sections, the program updates existing reinforcing bar placements more quickly.
You can place bars without problem in point mode multiple times by using “Place Bar Shape” - “Single placement” - “Point mode on” and the “Ignore number” setting.
You can use the “Stretch Entities” tool to edit spiral reinforcement without problem.
The current bar display mode of reinforcement placed in rotation in views and sections does not change even when you switch the drawing file and layout multiple times.
When you use the “Delete” tool to delete a bar, the program deletes couplers together with the bar.
When you move the schema itself after you have moved the schema text, the program does not re-create the schema text in the original position.
The layer symbol in the reinforcement label does not disappear when you open additional drawing files in edit mode.
You can use the “Modify Placement Display Mode” tool without problem in sections.
The position of a two-line label does not change when you change the parameters of the label at a scale that is different from that you used to create the label.
You can use the “Properties” palette to undo changes in a mark without problem.
When you use the building structure to copy a drawing file including reinforcement and associative legends and then place new reinforcement in the copied drawing file, the program updates and increments the associative legends correctly.
Bar reinforcement, mesh reinforcement
You can use the clipboard (cut, paste to original position in target drawing file) to move reinforcement without problem in views and sections when the drawing file filter is selected and both the source drawing file and the target drawing file are open.
Mesh reinforcement
When you place new meshes in views and sections, the program updates existing mesh placements more quickly.
An associative mesh legend correctly analyzes span reinforcement of meshes created in several drawing files even when the associative mesh legend is in a different drawing file.
You can use the “Modify Placement Parameters” tool to edit mesh placements that you changed by using the “Modify Offset” tool.
You can delete mesh placements that you changed using the “Modify Offset” tool.
When you add the “Mesh dimensions” to the label of a mesh you have already placed in a section, the label is correct even when you move the mesh or place a new mesh.
You can match meshes without problem from your own wizard that is in a wizard group that you also created yourself.
ALLPLAN Bridge
We updated the “ALLPLAN Bridge” plug-in.
When you select the “Bridge Construction” role, you can click the ALLPLAN logo on the right side to get information about ALLPLAN Bridge on the internet.
Planbar
Fixtures
Fixtures and reinforcement appear correctly in the selection color when you point to them in the element plan or in the window for editing elements.
