ALLPLAN and SDS2 Joining Forces to Provide Powerful Multi-Material Software Solutions

Munich, June 24, 2021 – ALLPLAN, global provider of BIM design software solutions, and SDS2, a leading US provider of BIM solutions for the structural steel detailing industry, today announced that they will be joining forces. With the merger, ALLPLAN fills a gap concerning engineering detailing software for steel. SDS2 significantly expands its expertise in concrete construction and will round off its competence as a multi-material provider. Customers from both companies will benefit from a comprehensive and innovative product portfolio for the entire structural workflow. This will also reinforce ALLPLAN’s leading position as an expert for platform-based BIM solutions for the construction lifecycle.

Additionally, ALLPLAN announced that the teams of ALLPLAN Inc. and SDS2 will merge to bolster the US organizations and create added value for customers through this combined offering. ALLPLAN simultaneously reinforces its international market presence, especially in North America, the key market for SDS2.

BIM Software Provider for the Entire Steel Delivery Workflow

The BIM software suite from SDS2 provides sophisticated and complete solutions covering the entire steel delivery workflow. It is unique in that it automates the connection design process by optimizing every joint based on specific code requirements established by each market. The customer base includes engineering design companies, steel fabricators, general contractors, and detailers. With around 6,000 users, SDS2 maintains a significant market share in North America.
