AI-supported innovations and new potential for planning, design and execution
Munich – ALLPLAN, a global provider of BIM solutions for the AEC industry and part of the Nemetschek Group, is setting new trends for digital planning at digitalBAU 2026 in Cologne at the Nemetschek Group's joint booth (Hall 8, Booth 402). The focus will be on AI-supported workflows in ALLPLAN 2026 and the planned market launch of the SDS2 steel construction solution in Germany. The trade fair presentation will be complemented by specialist presentations on artificial intelligence, parametric design and the second generation of Eurocodes.
"With our new AI workflows and integrated steel construction approach, we are laying the foundation for intelligent, end-to-end processes along the entire value chain. Our aim is to make planning and execution processes not only faster, but also better in terms of quality and more robust – from the initial idea to production," says Sunil Pandita, CEO of ALLPLAN and Chief Division Officer Planning & Design at the Nemetschek Group.
Integrated steel construction workflow: SDS2 comes to Germany
At digitalBAU, ALLPLAN will announce the planned market launch of SDS2 in Germany for the first time. Visitors will gain exclusive insights into the powerful steel construction solution even before its official market launch – including live demonstrations of key BIM-based workflows.
The focus is on seamless interaction with SCIA Engineer: from structural analysis and standard-compliant design to the model-based steel construction detailing process, including connection design, to the automated creation of assembly documents and CNC data.
The Open BIM workflow enables consistent analysis and manufacturing models, reduces sources of error, and ensures model integrity across all planning and execution phases. This creates an efficient process chain from structural design to manufacturing and assembly.
Next Level AI: Three new AI workflows for the entire planning process
With three new AI-supported functions, ALLPLAN addresses the entire planning process – from the early design phase to automated execution.
- The AI Visualizer V2 in ALLPLAN 2026 significantly expands the design possibilities for architects and engineers. Realistic images can be generated using precise text prompts, including negative prompts, image prompting with composition and style images, or a combination of both approaches.
- The new AI Coder (technical preview) eliminates the need for manual writing and debugging of complex ALLPLAN formulas. The AI converts natural language directly into usable formulas. Standard tasks such as labeling, plausibility checks, or evaluation logic can thus be implemented in minutes instead of hours.
- The ALLPLAN Python API is now “AI ready” and users can generate their own parametric objects with the help of AI Coding – without deep programming knowledge. Recurring modeling tasks thus become customizable building blocks that can be automatically updated when plans change. This increases productivity in daily design work and supports consistent model-based workflows.
Technical presentations at the trade fair stand
Visitors to the ALLPLAN booth can look forward to three technical presentations on current industry topics:
Senior Product Consultant Marc-Philipp Spiegelberg will explain in his presentation AI Power in Digital Design: From Initial Ideas to Smart Automation, how artificial intelligence supports the entire planning process from the concept phase to rule-based automation, combining inspiration, knowledge access, and efficiency (March 24, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on March 26, 2026, 10:30 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. on the Exhibition Stage).
In Eurocodes of the 2nd generation: Action required for structural engineers and geotechnical engineers Manuel Walter, Product Manager Structural Design, will present the key changes in the new generation of standards, highlight their impact on structural design and geotechnical engineering, and explain why design offices should adapt their processes and software landscapes at an early stage (March 25, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.).
In Parametrics with ALLPLAN as the basis for structural optimization, Kai Lakeberg, Senior Product Consultant, shows how parametric models in ALLPLAN and ALLPLAN Civil can be used to efficiently optimize bridge structures (March 26, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.).
Stefan Kaufmann, Product Manager Innovation, will speak on March 24 on the Neo Stage of the German Federal Association for Software and Digitalization in Construction (BVBS) from 1:35 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. on the topic of German engineering meets agentic AI.
