ALLPLAN at the digitalBAU 2020 in Cologne

BIM solution portfolio and cloud strategy focus for trade fair presentation

Munich, February 4, 2020 - From 11th to 13th February 2020, Cologne will become the digital hotspot of the construction industry for the first time. The new trade fair digitalBAU 2020 will showcase trends, product innovations and services related to digitalization. As one of the leading providers of BIM solutions ALLPLAN will present its digital solution portfolio as well as BIM workflows for architects, engineers and construction companies in hall 7 at stand 320. The Munich-based company is one of a total of ten brands from the Nemetschek Group represented at the trade fair.

"Digitalisation has long since ceased to be an option, but offers many new opportunities that we must exploit if we want to increase productivity and efficiency in the construction process. We therefore see the new trade show as an important source of inspiration for the industry, which we want to play a major role in shaping", says Dr. Detlef Schneider, CEO of ALLPLAN.

Comprehensive BIM solution for architects and engineers

ALLPLAN's trade fair presentation will focus on Allplan as an integrated solution that provides workflows that are specially tailored to the target group. This saves architects and engineers valuable time and meets the growing quality requirements of clients and design partners. Architects present their ideas using high-quality presentation documents and renderings from the BIM model. Engineers benefit from a high degree of precision in modelling, formwork and reinforcement design, as well as meaningful design documents. All common interfaces are also available for smooth cooperation with other software solutions. Thanks to the IFC4 interface, all types of BIM data including free-form geometries and reinforcement can be transferred completely and to planning partners. All changes to the original design are only made once on the model and are automatically transferred to all plans. This reduces the risk of errors and saves time.

World first: 4D-BIM solution for bridge construction

ALLPLAN Infrastructure's world innovation Allplan Bridge will also be on display at digitalBAU. Allplan Bridge is a completely new solution for modeling, calculation and design that is designed for ease of use, bridge construction-specific workflows and quality. By using an integrated bridge model instead of two separate bridge models for calculation and design, interdisciplinary cooperation is improved. The parametric model and the extensive automation of work steps drastically reduces the processing time, especially for the design changes that were previously extremely time-consuming and error-prone. Allplan Bridge is a new generation BIM solution that will change the way bridge projects are designed and executed.

Managing BIM projects successfully with Allplan Bimplus

ALLPLAN will also be demonstrating in Cologne how interdisciplinary planning teams can work together in BIM projects and centrally manage information, documents and tasks. This is made possible by the open, cloud-based BIM platform Allplan Bimplus, which can be connected to any software in the construction industry via its API interface. The models of the individual specialist disciplines are brought together in a central coordination model and displayed visually. The direct connection of Allplan Bimplus to software solutions from different providers optimizes BIM workflows and improves interdisciplinary collaboration.

Lecture program on BIM and cloud strategy

Interdisciplinary cooperation is also the focus of the lecture program at the trade fair. Lectures on the following topics will be held several times a day:

  • A new digital era with ALLPLAN's cloud solutions
  • Allplan Share - a cloud-based solution for BIM-based collaboration
  • Allplan Bimplus - Multidisciplinary workflows and project coordination
  • The importance of the partner landscape for cooperative work
