Nemetschek Allplan was awarded the German TÜV SÜD certificate for the ninth time in a row, and for the first time in conjunction with the NEVARIS tender, award & billing software (TAI). Nemetschek Allplan is the only company in the German AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) sector to be awarded the certificate for software functionality from the German technical service organization TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH. The experts from TÜV SÜD thoroughly tested the performance of the graphical quantity takeoff and correct calculation in accordance with VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures). The certificate is awarded in accordance with a defined test catalog based on standards such as ISO IEC 25051 and VOB.

The test by TÜV SÜD was carried out on the basis of selected building groups such as reinforced concrete, masonry, windows and finish specifications included in the "intelligent building data" (IBD) in Allplan. This intelligent building data consists of CAD libraries and alphanumeric elements with product range and prices. As a result, it is possible to determine quantities in accordance with VOB Part C at item level from the building model designed by the architect.

Importance as part of Design2Cost planning method
In the Design2Cost solution, the CAD platform Allplan is combined with the NEVARIS tender, award & billing system and with intelligent building data. For architects and engineers who plan their costs using Design2Cost, a reliable quantity framework and automatic quantity takeoff from the building model are particularly important in enabling costs to be accurately determined. If plans or materials are changed, the quantities can still be determined quickly.
"The TÜV SÜD requirements relating to functionality and software quality for graphical quantity takeoff are met by both the selected building groups of Allplan IBD and by the Allplan 2015 software and construction cost planning," explains Siegfried Muckenschnabl, product specialist at TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH.
