The Nemetschek University Program consists of four coordinated components: Subject to the condition that Allplan is included in the syllabus, Nemetschek provides the universities with a server license (Allplan Educational License) to equip 25 workstations each with Allplan Architecture and Allplan Civil Engineering at special rates. In return, the students are able to use the latest complete version of Allplan (Student License). Complementing the university course, an education and training concept (Fit for CAD) is available, which can be integrated into the lessons easily, requiring little training Each student receives comprehensive teaching material to intensify the CAD knowledge learned.

Whoever wants to round off their training with a certificate, can take part in the Nemetschek Student Certification Program, which comprises various levels. Within this framework students are taught the basics of Allplan and specialized knowledge – from 2D drafting and design to component-oriented working methods. Each of the various training levels concludes with an exam. At the end, the student receives a certificate, confirming his expertise in working professionally with Allplan.

Rumania and Bulgaria as pioneers
In Rumania the University Program has been running successfully for several years. Many universities, such as those of Bucharest, Cluj, Constanta, Oradea, Brasov, Sibiu, Iasi and Timisoara, have schools of architecture and civil engineering who solely work with Allplan. This year alone, over 1,000 students enrolled for Allplan courses and the subsequent certification program.

In Bulgaria the Program has already been run for the fourth time. Surveys have shown that over 80 percent of the certified students will use Allplan in their professional careers and can expect higher entry salaries due to this qualification. Even when still at university, they are offered attractive jobs and receive prestigious internships abroad.

The future plans with BIM
"We want to use the Nemetschek University Program to introduce students to 3D design, as this is becoming an ever more important qualification for architects and engineers,” says Michael Westfahl, member of the Managing Board responsible for sales and marketing. Nemetschek CAD solutions make the transition from two-dimensional to three-dimensional designing easier for architects and designers. They are based on the so-called Building Information Model (BIM), which makes it possible to design buildings in three dimensions at an early draft stage and to assign object properties such as physical and structural characteristics, as well as costs.
