Allplan 2022 release and future strategies
Watch Kevin Lea, Senior Vice President Product Management speak about data driven decision making, Cloud technology and the benefits of the new Allplan version.
Optimal Buildability through seamlessly integrated processes
Allplan 2022 stands for the integrated working method of architects, engineers and contractors on a single platform from the initial design to successful implementation on the construction site. Allplan supports thorough capture of the construction environment with functionality for terrain model and road design. For the detailing of the building model, the new version offers optimized tools for modeling, visualization, concrete and steel structures as well as new functions for implementation on the construction site. At the same time, the new version impresses with optimized user-friendliness in many areas.
Benefits of Allplan at a glance
Smooth data exchange
To ensure smooth reliable data exchange with planning partners, the software includes high-quality interfaces with all conventional exchange formats, including DWG, DXF, DGN, IFC4, and PDF.
With Allplan, you can collaborate on a project within an office and also across multiple locations. Together with the cloud-based platform Bimplus and Allplan Share, the multidisciplinary coordination of BIM models becomes reality.
A modern and intuitive user interface facilitates role and task based working enabling you to rapidly learn and become more productive.
Flexibility of application
Allplan is flexible in your individual design processes, from purely two-dimensional working drawings through to the object-oriented BIM working approach.
Diverse areas of use
Allplan is suitable for all types of construction projects - from small to highly complex, and for both buildings and civil engineering constructions.
CAD and structural analysis
Structural/structural-analysis models and surveying results can be exchanged with FRILO Statik, SCIA Engineer, and other systems.
Allplan can be easily adapted to customer-specific requirements. Whether for automation, special products, or quality checks, integrated Visual Scripting or the Python API provide solutions.
With Allplan, seamlessly integrated processes are supported through a multidisciplinary single platform from initial design to successful implementation on the construction site.
With Bimplus, Allplan users extend their collaboration, project and data management potential with their project partners for maximum efficiencies in delivery.
Additional products and add-ons for Allplan
With "Allplan Share" you benefit from a direct collaboration with planning partners around the world with one and the same Allplan data. It is based on the BIM platform Allplan Bimplus and also allows the direct connection to other tools via the open API.
Allplan Workgroup Manager
Allplan Workgroup Manager assumes the organization of CAD work stations in local networks (LAN) as well as via Internet. It creates clear synergy effects in medium-sized and large planning and construction firms.
Allplan License Server
Allplan License Server provides effective management and optimum use of your licenses. The license server allows secure access to licenses in the corporate network, while offering flexible usage for licenses outside of the office.

The skyline of Frankfurt am Main is distinctive in Europe. Nine of the approximately 30 buildings—each over 100 meters in height—are among the ten tallest buildings in Germany. By 2019, this collection is to be enhanced with another skyscraper. At that point, the OMNITURM will be the fifth-tallest building in Frankfurt at about 190 meters, and at the same time, the first truly mixed-use high-rise in Germany, which will offer public spaces in addition to office and living space.
The Queensferry Crossing, Edinburgh in Scotland
The Queensferry Crossing near Edinburgh in Scotland is a cablestayed bridge with three pylons over 200 m in height. It is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe and benefitted from ultramodern reinforcement planning in 3D thanks to the engineers from Leonhardt, Andrä und Partner (LAP) and Allplan Engineering.
Transport Scotland’s consultants from the Jacobs Arup joint venture were not given an easy task in developing a concept for the new bridge. The bridge has to be an equal counterpart to the world cultural heritage of the "Forth Bridge."...
Gotthard Base Tunnel, Switzerland
The scheduled commissioning on December 11, 2016, marked the end of the project of the century – the Gotthard Base Tunnel – after nearly 20 years of building time. Its route length of 57 kilometers through the Saint-Gotthard Massif between Erstfeld and Bodio makes the Gotthard Base Tunnel the longest rail tunnel in the world.
The entire base tunnel, including cross-passages and multifunction stations, is double-walled. After the excavation support, a seal and an insituconcrete tunnel lining were installed. In the Erstfeld and Amsteg sections, the contractor used three formwork units, each with two 10-meterlong formwork carriages, for the cladding and tunnel lining...
High-rise Giessen Tower, Dübendorf (ZH), Switzerland
The advantages of BIM: The city of Dübendorf, located on the eastern edge of Zurich, plans to develop sustainably in the coming years. New districts will emerge, centers will be enhanced and new living space will be created. The approximately 85-meter-high Giessen Tower will be a future landmark in the region.
"Due to the different Allplan 3D Model mix of apartments and the offset angle of the high-rise structure, neither the structural nor the building service requirements are routine and the complex exterior also required intricate planning", says Bim Manager Matthias Moog. According to him, it would not have been possible to plan the facade other than in 3D.
Office buillding Aviatica Prag, Czech Republic
The former factory premises of aircraft engine manufacturer Waltrovka / Walter Engines is located in the district of Jinonice, in the fifth administrative department of Prague. Investment management group Penta Investments is planning to build a new city quarter with three office complexes (Aviatica, Dynamica and Mechanica) and various residential complexes on this 169,000 m² site in the coming years
