Franz Hürlimann, Canton of Lucerne, Transport and Infrastructure (vif)

After completing his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Infrastructure Construction at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) in Horw in 2018, he gained extensive experience at an engineering firm, where he worked from 2005 to 2025. During this time, he took on roles in project and construction management and contributed to projects in structural engineering, road construction, and utility infrastructure. In 2024, he further expanded his expertise in digital planning by completing the CAS Infrastructure Digital program at Bern University of Applied Sciences. As BIM Manager at Gruner, he developed and established standards and successfully implemented them in efficient planning processes. Since 2025, he has been working as a BIM Expert for the Canton of Lucerne, contributing his experience to the digital transformation of infrastructure projects. In parallel, he is involved as a vocational school teacher for draftsmen at GIBZ in Zug, where he shares his practical knowledge. In his free time, he pursues his ambitions as a professional cyclist with persistence—although the major breakthrough has yet to come.
